Leaving a legacy to an animal welfare organisation ensures a brighter future for the animals in its care as it is money already committed to the organisation.
A legacy ensures that the animals you have loved and supported will continue to get the care and protection they deserve. A legacy is a bequest made in your Will.
There are 3 types of bequests:
- Bequeath the residue of your estate (a residuary gift). Some choose to leave the entire residue, others allocate a percentage of the estate, once all other gifts, fees, debts and taxes have been paid.
- Bequeath an item of value, ie jewellery, property, stocks or shares.
- Pledge a sum of money.
A bequest to EARS Donkey Sanctuary helps us to continue to provide nutritious food, comfortable shelter & health care for our resident rescues for the rest of their natural lives. Your bequest will also assist in supporting our outreach clinics, & the rescue & rehabilitation of ill and injured horses in our community. These animals have little or no access to medical care and rely heavily on us for assistance.
EARS Donkey Sanctuary recently received a R10 000 contribution from the sale of a saddle left by an animal lover. This R10 000 was a very welcome boost to our coffers and we urge other donkey and horse lovers to please consider us when updating their Wills. Your executor can assist in drawing up the will.
